“Tajweed” or “Tajwid” is a very common term in the context of Quran recitation. It comes from the Arabic word ( تَجْوِيدْ) which linguistically means enhancement or making something outstanding.
In terms of Quran reading & recitation, Tajweed is actually a set of linguistic and pronunciation rules used in reciting the Quran to recite it in the right way as same as the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was reciting.
Tajweed is one of the most prominent sciences of the Quran & Islam. It is a science governed by deep-rooted static rules derived from the oral recitation of the Quran by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) after he heard the revelation from the Angel Gabriel (Peace be upon him).
In other simple words, “Tajweed can be defined as the art of keeping the tongue from committing a mistake in the recitation of Allah’s words.”

َدَر َس
Darasa means “he studied”
Now let’s add a shaddah to this word:
رَدَّ َس
dar-rasa means “he taught”

Students will learn and master;
1. All the Rulings of Gunnah ( Noon & Meem Shaddah, Meem Sukoon, Noon Sukoon & Tanween with regard to Gunnah. Student will learn that where needs to Gunnah and where avoid it. Rules of Izhar, Ikhfa, Idgham, Iqlaab, Izhar-e-Shafawi, Ikhfa-e-Shafawi, and Idgham-e-Shafawi.
2. Rulings of Letters of Echo and their Application in Quran i.e Huroof e Qalqalah.
3. All rulings of letter Laam including Laam Shamsiyah and Laam Qamariyah .i.e Sun Letters and Moon Letters.
4. Rulings of Letter Raa with all orientations.
5. Huroof ul Madd with all its types i.e learn how to stretch and pronounce with long harakaat.
6. Stopping Symbols i.e where we need to stop
7. All the examples are selected from Quran.
